Bevelled Edges
When designing O-Ring sealing devices it is of vital importance that
the edges are bevelled so that the O-Ring will not be damaged when being
installed. In may cases mere rounding of sharp edges is insufficient.
The following figures show the reasons.

| Cylinders |

The ring gets jammed and is destroyed because the edges have not been bevelled.
Correctly bevelled edges ensure simple mounting without problems.

| Piston Rods and Plungers |
In the case of piston rods and plungers this construction is given preference.

This construction may also be used.

Valves
When O-Rings must pass a hole when being mounted, provision should be made
so that the rings cannot be pinched off.
This construction is preferred.
This construction is also workable.

When a certain amount of passage is required we advise the construction
of several small diameter holes instead of a smaller number of larger
holes.
