Fluorocarbon (VITON®)

Application Data Shore A
+/- 5°
Temp
°C
Remarks
High quality compound for high temperatures. Synthetic and hydraulic fluids; a wide range of chemicals, heavy oxidating acids (in combination with medium temperatures), many alkalis and acids and hot air. Exceptional in vacuum application. 60 -20/+200
70

Perfluor Elastomer (KALREZ®)

Application Data Shore A
+/- 5°
Temp
°C
Remarks
Superior quality compound for high temperatures and most chemicals. The compound combines chemical properties of PTFE and mechanical properties of VITON. For solvents, ketones, esters, ethers, inorganic and organic acids and lyes, highly oxidizing agents, chlorine and compounds of chlorine, fuels, hydraulic fluids, thermal fluids, steam. For maximum resistance to high temperatures. In comparison with compound 1050 less suitable for acid or wet media. 80 -20/+260 Fluoridized solvents cause a slight amount of swelling
90 -20/+288

Ethylene Propylene (EPDM or EP)

Application Data Shore A
+/- 5°
Temp
°C
Remarks
Chemically resistant. Fire resistant to hydraulic fluids (skydrol, pydraul, lindol, celube150, phosphate esters), pure aniline, fire extinguisher fluid, acids. Resistant to heated water and steam. 50 -55/+150 Not resistant to mineral oils. Ep compounds have now replaced butyl compounds but these can be supplied if required.

Silicone
Silicone O-Rings are made from existing standard moulds. Due to contraction of these materials, a minus tolerance of 0.2% is acceptable.

Application Data Shore A
+/- 5°
Temp
°C
Remarks
For high temperatures, air, oxygen, heated water, etc. For static application only. Silicone compounds can be used for many chemicals like phosphate esters, synthetic di-esters, or the silicate-esters, chlorinated silicone-fluids, alkalis and various acids, concentrated h202. Always check with chemical compatibility chart before use. 50 -55/+230 AMS 3302
